Any LGBT Pride Festival success is a direct result of volunteers who give their time and energy each year. Brantford’s Pride Celebration is looking for dedicated volunteers. Below you will find an application form for those of you who are interested in helping out.
Celebrating Gay Pride is empowering not only for those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning, but also for the children siblings, parents, and friends who make up this diverse community. The Brantford Pride Committee is dedicated to include events that will put smiles on the children’s faces and give them a memory to last a lifetime.
EVENT LABORERS HELP TO SET UP AND TAKE DOWN.
The work of Event Laborers includes physical labor, and these individuals must generally be able to lift at least 25 pounds, set up tables and concessions, and put up displays. Some Event Laborers may also be required to set up stages, bleachers, or other seating arrangements. Event Laborers also help to clean up after an event, picking up any trash left behind, and taking down all tables, concessions, and displays.
EVENT SECURITY AND STAFF
EVENT SECURITY/STAFF ASSIST IN KEEPING ORDER
Event staff members may work in a variety of positions such as concession stand workers, ushers, ticket-takers or security personnel. Some work to set up lighting, sound and scenery equipment. Others will work to keep the events organized and clean.
YEAR ROUND VOLUNTEERS
VOLUNTEERS WILL HELP TO ORGANIZE VARIOUS EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
The planning of such a large event does not happen overnight, and therefore we do require additional help throughout the year. The responsibilities of Year Round Volunteers varies depending on what the immediate need is. We will start accepting applications after Brantford Pride 2012. These volunteers are crucial to the Community and important part to a successful organization which will continue grow every year.
VOLUNTEERING WITH BRANTFORD PRIDE
We are looking for volunteers from the LGBTQ community and Allies to assist us with events and our annual festival in Mohawk Park. We welcome our volunteers by offering an inclusive environment to bring awareness to LGBTQ issues in the community at large. If you are in high school and looking for volunteer hours, we would appreciate your help as well.
Setup will take place on Saturday June 17th, 2017 at 8AM at Mohawk Park. Setup volunteers will be doing physical labour and be able to lift 25 pounds. Jobs include setting up tables, concessions, seating, and displays. Sign up below.
Event Volunteers will be assisting during the event will be assisting with empowering not only for those who identify as LGBTQ and Allies who make up this diverse community. TAKE DOWN VOLUNTEERS
Take down volunteers will be responsible after the event has taken place for the removal and cleaning up of our festival site. This will require physical labour and jobs similar to Setup volunteers. Sign up below.
